Money Coach Specializing in Shopping Addiction
About Your Services & Approach
What Exactly Do You Help Clients With Regarding Their Shopping Addiction?
We get to the root of the problem - peeling back the layers to understand why the addiction exists. We uproot that problem, sit with it, acknowledge it, work on healing from it, and then cultivate healthier financial behaviors and a healthier life as a whole. This is a process, not surface-level work.
How is Working With a Money Coach for Shopping Addiction Different From Seeing a Therapist?
A therapist may focus primarily on emotional boundaries, triggers, cultivating healthier behaviors, and addressing anxiety or depression around the behavior - possibly using approaches like CBT therapy. As a shopping addiction specialist, I go deeper. We get to the root of the problem by examining where spending behaviors originated - looking at family situations, current life circumstances, relationship triggers, and peeling back the layers to uncover when and why this started. We identify money patterns and triggers that are present in your life. I may also recognize other mental health challenges (such as OCD) that could warrant a referral to a psychiatrist, though I do not diagnose. Additionally, as a shopping addiction specialist, we develop coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and an overall comprehensive coaching plan tailored to your specific needs.
Do I Need to Have a Diagnosed Shopping Addiction to Work With You?
No, but clients complete an assessment to determine whether they have a shopping addiction problem.
Do You Diagnose Shopping Addiction or Prescribe Medication?
No - I am strictly a coach who works 1-on-1 with clients who have shopping addiction.
Do You Work With Budgeting, Investing, or Retirement Planning?
No.
Do You Provide Financial Advising or Financial Planning Services?
No.
Logistics & Payment
Do You Accept Health Insurance?

Working Together
Do You Work With Clients in Person, Virtually, or Both?
I do the majority of my work virtually, but I can also work in person. Please note that in-person sessions incur an additional cost.
What Happens in Our First Session?
The first session is a “get to know you” session. We’ll complete paperwork and begin getting acquainted so I can understand your needs and goals.
How Long Does Coaching Typically Last?
Because shopping addiction is unique to each person, no two clients are identical. Coaching lasts as long as the client needs. Once you’re a client, you’re always a client - meaning you have ongoing support for your journey.
Do You Work With Individuals Only, or Also With Couples/families?
I primarily work with individuals but am open to working with couples and families if requested. Please note that working with couples and families incurs an additional cost.
